Melanie is a freelance writer for the stage and screen, currently working in London.
As well as writing for dramatic performance, Melanie has many years of experience in writing for corporate and promotional film for a wide range of businesses, schemes and charities across the UK.
Her portfolio in drama and comedy is continually being developed. Since 2009 two of Melanie’s short films have been produced independently, and in 2011, her stage production, Life: Meaning Us was performed throughout a six night run as part of the DYS-PLA festival in Camden.
In 2013, Melanie's one act play, Waiting Room, was staged as part of a new writing event in Newcastle, and later in the year her short play, A Little While Longer was produced as part of London Grey & Green's City Slices and Country Crumbs at The Hen & Chickens Theatre, Highbury.
While Melanie’s exploration of comedy lies within ramblings of the surreal and awkward, her dramatic writing style is one of exploring the nuances of human behaviour through emotive narrative.
Following her recent completion of an MA in writing for the stage and broadcast media at The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, London – Melanie is currently collaborating on various projects in film and theatre. She has also written a Kindle edition ebook course on screenwriting, which is accompanied by her regular blog, YouTube Channel and Facebook page.
